Burlesque music in London

There is a rich culture of music here in The Tassel Club. We love all genres associated with vintage culture. Charleston from the 20’s swing from the 40’s and rockabilly from the 1950’s. We love when all these styles combine in a weird and wonderful way and create something new. It’s the whole basis of burlesque and cabaret as we know it really – a mish mash of all thing vintage, revamped in a new style, relevant to today.

There are many current day burlesque/cabaret musical heroes including Chris Tofu from Continental Drifts, Future Swing Stories (who will play at our next event) Nick Hollywood from White Mink, Black Cotton, but the two people The Tassel Club has championed since their ‘musical birth’ are parisian duo Bart and Baker.

We are delighted to announce that Bart and Baker have a new EP out on Wagram Records – called The Jet Lag EP

Valentine’s weekend in London: Come to The Tassel Club

Delighted to say we are back with another production of The Tassel Club Cabaret Show in Hoxton Hall on 11.02.12

The night will have a Valentines theme, but won’t be exclusive for love birds!!

We will have a surprise finale, burlesque from Sophia St Villier and Peggy de Lune and as always, circus and cabaret from a variety of Tassel Club favourites.

We learned a lot from our New Year’s Eve adventure so we hope that our next night in the lovely Hoxton Hall will be even better!

Tickets include a full Tassel Club cabaret show with lots of give aways, complimentary canapes throughout the evening.

We hope our guests enjoy a homemade cocktail bar! Generally better measures??! (we will print our price list in advance so you can see the tasty cocktails on offer!)

We are working out the final details to our New Year’s Eve event and we are looking for lots of burlesque cabaret lovers to work with us. Help us distribute flyers? Get in touch. Usherettes, stage assistants and volunteers to help out with what will be the most authentic vaudavillian night The Tassel Club has ever created. Tickets are available priced £40 via Brown Paper Tickets. (fair trade tickets) The location for our show is HOXTON HALL, Hoxton Street - central East London – minutes from buses, trains and tubes. These tickets include entry and complimentary tipple from Pernod Absinthe – to give the night a proper 1900′s feel! This is not a sit down dinner event, but a semi seated glorious stage show in a stunning victorian hall. Dress up is ESSENTIAL on the night.
